So you want to know how to sell photos online and make money? Great?! This post will help you with a money-making idea for your photos that you may not have thought of before.
Sell Your Photos Online in Different Forms
Selling photos online doesn’t mean that you have to sell digital images, or prints. Yes, do that, because there is a market out there for that.
However, what I am talking about is making products from your photos. This way you can sell one photo in many different forms and therefore multiply the earning potential of each photo.
Now, don’t get stressed out that you will have to spend hours and hours making products from your photos. There is an easier way.
Print-On-Demand Services
This is the best way to make products from your photos. Print-on-demand services are online websites where you simply upload your image and they do the rest. They can print your photos onto everything from T-shirts, to mugs, to clocks and even shower curtains!
There are many print-on-demand websites out there to choose from. Redbubble is the one I have had the most success with. I have been using it for over 10 years and my earnings from this site continue to grow.
The best thing about sites like this? It’s passive income! You upload once and your work is done. They print, manufacture and ship the products and you get paid every time you make a sale.
Why Use Redbubble?
As I have mentioned, Redbubble has been a good earner for me. This is not the only reason I suggest it though. Aside from the earning potential, other reasons include:
- The product quality is excellent
- Their support system is great
- You retain ownership and control of your work
- You get to decide what you earn from each sale
Product Quality
I have ordered many things from Redbubble in the past to re-sell. The quality is always really good.
There have been times when the print quality of throw pillow covers has not been satisfactory. There were tiny areas where the ink didn’t print to the fabric. I contacted support and they quickly re-printed the products at no extra cost to me, and shipped them straight away.
Great Support
Redbubble support is always great. As mentioned above, any problems with products are dealt with quickly and without question.
In addition, there are articles that cover everything on the site within Redbubble’s Help Center. And, you can also chat live with a help center representative via the Chat Live tab on the right-hand-side of the Help Center page.
Perhaps best-of-all, artists never have to deal with unsatisfied customers, this is all done by Redbubble staff.
Retain The Copyright of Your Photos
Regardless of how many images you upload, you always retain ownership and control of your work. By uploading you grant Redbubble a nonexclusive and royalty free license to use and archive the content.
The copyright of your photographs remains yours.
Decide What You Want To Earn
All Redbubble products have a Base Price which covers the service fee and manufacturing. On top of that, they put your Markup which is 20% by default but you can change it to whatever you like. In other words, you choose what you earn.
For example, let’s say that you upload a photo and choose to make a sticker with it. Let’s assume the base price of stickers is US$2.00. You choose to have a 25% markup.
$2.00 X 25% = 50 cents
The Retail Price of that sticker now becomes US$2.50 and you earn 50 cents for every one sold.
You have to look at competitors pricing and make sure that your markup is not too high. This will affect how many sales you get on a product. Try to get the pricing of your products to be competitive.
