In this video I show you how to format a camera SD card.  I use a SanDisk 64GB Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-I Card

Formatting the SD card in your camera is a very important step to making sure that your SD card works properly and lasts longer.

Deleting images in-camera does not actually remove all trace of the images. This will clutter up your SD card and you are more likely to get errors.

In this video I show you how to format a camera card in a Nikon D5200. The process should be the same for most Nikon cameras. If you have another brand of camera, please check your manual for details on how to do this.

I also answer the question “why should I format my sd card?” You may not be aware that it is so important to format your cards, so I also talk about that.
